Poison centre notification in Latvia

Latvia accepts PCN dossiers through the ECHA Submission portal in Latvian or English, with no national fee and market access on passed validation. The poisoning-information service sits with the Poisoning and Drug Information Centre at Riga East University Hospital, which absorbed the former State Toxicology Centre.
Latvia's real national quirk is the parallel database duty: under Cabinet Regulation No. 795 of 2015, chemicals and mixtures placed on the Latvian market are registered annually in the database of the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre (LVĢMC) — a separate national inventory that a harmonised PCN does not satisfy. LVĢMC also runs Latvia's REACH/CLP helpdesk.
What to watch for in Latvia
- Separate annual registration in the LVĢMC chemical database (Cabinet Regulation No. 795/2015).
- Latvian or English accepted for the PCN.
- Appointed-body successor arrangements (ex-State Toxicology Centre) — re-verify contact details on the ECHA list before relying on them.
