Poison centre notification in Iceland

Iceland joined ECHA's central route in 2022, and PCN dossiers for the Icelandic market now go through the ECHA Submission portal in Icelandic or English, with no fee and no confirmation-of-receipt wait. Older guidance describing a Icelandic national-only system predates the portal connection and is obsolete.
The appointed body is the Poison Information Centre at Landspítali, the National University Hospital in Reykjavík, with the Environment Agency of Iceland (Umhverfisstofnun) handling chemicals regulation more broadly. As an EEA member, Iceland applies Annex VIII on the same terms as EU states.
What to watch for in Iceland
- EEA member — Annex VIII applies as in the EU.
- Icelandic or English accepted.
- Older sources describing a national-only Icelandic system are outdated (portal accepted since 2022).
